In September of 2010, CPA-TV began broadcasting Channel 13 on a digital
broadcast server, allowing for reliable playback and an enhanced on-screen
presence. This was coupled with a 24/7 online stream of Channel 13, now
operating with virtually no downtime, thanks to our partnership with media
company Granicus Inc.
In January of 2011, CPA-TV added Education Channel 14 to the dual-channel
digital server. We now broadcast both stations from the same device,
providing our viewers with top-notch programming of community interest,
without the problems associated with DVD-based playback equipment.
Charlottesville Public Access Television (CPA-TV) is the community access
station for Charlottesville, presented on Comcast Cable. The station group
is comprised of Public Access on Channel 13 and Educational Access on
Channel 14. Charlottesville's Own TV10 is the Government Access station on
Channel 10. All three are owned and operated by the City of Charlottesville.
